Entry Requirements

  • Selection is by interview.
  • You should have at least 4 GCSEs at minimum Grade 3 (D) including maths and English or equivalent, or a BTEC Foundation Certificate (Level 1) in a related subject.
  • Mature students will be assessed on relevant experience, clear motivation and a reasonable standard of attainment in written English.
  • All students must have good punctuality, a good attendance level,  positive attitude to vocational area and if required continue to work towards English and Maths at Grade 4.

  • Unit 02 The UK travel and tourism industry
  • Unit 03 Travel and tourism destinations
  •  Unit 04 Promotion in travel and tourism
  • Unit 07 Travel agency operations
  • Unit 10 Introduction to guided tours
  • Hospitality Industry Skills

Assessment

You will undertake assessments throughout the year to support your coursework. In addition, each unit has either a final external or internal assessment. Full attendance is therefore absolutely critical in order to achieve this qualification.

Progression

This course has a natural progression to higher level qualifications or you may go direct into employment. Note: that some careers have a minimum age for entry.Students wishing to progress to the Level 3 course will need a minimum of Level 2 Diploma with Merit profile, good level of attendance and punctuality and recommendation from current teaching staff.
