At Coastland College, your journey doesn’t stop in the classroom.

Our Careers & Guidance team is here to help you explore options, discover what excites you and feel confident about your future – whether that’s university, an apprenticeship or stepping straight into work.

We’ll support you from the moment you join us, right through to when you take your next step.

How we support you

One-to-one guidance

If you’re unsure about your direction, or want to talk through your ideas, you can book a friendly, confidential appointment with one of our qualified Careers Advisers. They’ll help you understand your strengths, explore opportunities and make plans that feel right for you.

Careers events and employer talks

Throughout the year, you’ll meet local and national employers, universities and training providers through fairs, talks and workshops. It’s a chance to ask questions, make connections and get a feel for what’s out there.

We work closely with employers across Dorset in areas such as digital, construction, hospitality, engineering, healthcare, early years, land-based industries and more – giving you access to a wide range of opportunities.

Help with applications

When you’re ready to apply for university, apprenticeships or jobs, we’ll guide you through:

  • Personal statements and UCAS applications
  • CV writing and interview practice
  • Searching and applying for apprenticeships
  • Finding work experience or part-time roles

Resources you can trust

Our Careers Hubs on both campuses offer:

  • Access to career-planning tools and labour market information
  • University prospectuses and course guides
  • Job and apprenticeship listings
  • Quiet spaces to research, plan and reflect

Coastland College follows the Gatsby Benchmarks to ensure every student receives high-quality careers education.
