Public Transport (Weymouth Campus)
Weymouth Campus is well connected by public bus routes and rail links, including services from Yeovil, Poole and Bournemouth.
Students who live more than five miles from Weymouth Campus can purchase a subsidised public bus pass through the College during enrolment. These passes:
- Cover 11 months of travel
- Can be used 7 days a week, including for non-college journeys
- Must be paid in full (no instalment plans available)
- Are non-refundable

- Weymouth Plus Pass (11 months): £697
- Dorset Pass (11 months): £853
Public Transport Terms
- Bus service bookings are on a first come, first served basis
- Bookings are for the entire academic year
- Passes are non-refundable even if journeys are not taken
- Passes remain valid even if a student withdraws from their course
- Students are responsible for getting to the bus stop five minutes before departure
- Routes may be adjusted with notice
- Normal College Behaviour Policy and Transport Code of Conduct apply at all times
Student transport provided by Zeelo
Kingston Maurward & selected Weymouth routes only
For the Kingston Maurward Campus routes, and the Swanage and Dewlish/Cheselbourne routes to Weymouth Campus, Coastland College offers a home-to-college bus service provided by Zeelo.
Zeelo offers:

Zeelo bus charges for 2025/26:
- The 25/26 cost for Zeelo transport will be £1700 per year
- This amount is prior to any reduction as a result of a bursary award – where a bursary is awarded, students will be issued a single-use discount code to reduce the cost.

- Bookings open during enrolment
- Once enrolled, you’ll receive an email invitation to the Zeelo booking page
- Instalment plans are available at no extra charge
- Payments are made directly through the Zeelo system

General Zeelo Terms
- Bus service bookings are on a first come, first served basis
- Bookings are for the entire academic year
- Journeys booked but not taken are non-refundable – any journey cancelled ad hoc via the app will not reduce the amount charged, and cancellations must be made in line with the Cancellation Policy below
- Any amendments to students’ journeys should be emailed to transport@coastland.ac.uk – please allow up to five working days for amendments to be processed
- Parents/guardians wishing to withdraw students from the service entirely must provide notice at the earliest opportunity by emailing transport@coastland.ac.uk
- If a student no longer requires transport mid-month, refunds will be calculated from the end of the month – refunds will only be awarded for any full months remaining, and no refunds will be awarded prior to the Christmas break or after April
- Students who wish to travel on more than one route will be accommodated at the College’s discretion and only where capacity allows.
- Students are responsible for getting to the bus stop five minutes before departure
- Students must travel only on their registered route
- Students must show their student ID when boarding
- Normal College Behaviour Policy and Transport Code of Conduct apply at all times
- Routes may be adjusted with notice
- Stop requests can be made direct to Zeelo – these will be assessed against risk assessment requirements and route impact, and stops are added at the discretion of Zeelo
Travelling by car and parking
Students travelling by car can park on both campuses for free.
At Weymouth campus, you will need to display a valid student parking permit. This will also allow you to park in overflow parking in Lodmoor car park, when the College car park is full.
At Kingston Maurward Campus, student parking is also free but you are not required to display a permit.
Fuel subsidy
Fuel subsidy may be available for students travelling by car, based on your home-to-college travel distance and attendance – please speak to the Student Engagement team to check if you are eligible.
