Training

Apprentices will undertake on-the-job training, helping them develop the Knowledge, Skills and Behaviours (KSBs) needed in the workplace. Alongside this, at least six hours a week of off-the-job training in partnership with Coastland College will focus on new learning directly linked to the apprenticeship, rather than their usual day-to-day tasks.

Wages & Funding

For apprentices aged 16-18, and those aged 19+ in the first year of their apprenticeship, you must pay at least the National Minimum or Living Wage apprentice rate. For apprentices aged 19+ who have completed their first year, you must pay at least the standard minimum wage for their age group.

Taking on an apprentice is more affordable than many employers think. The government provides significant support, and in most cases you’ll only pay a small contribution towards the training.
