Course overview

This is an advanced and comprehensive two- year program designed to equip students with the essential skills and knowledge needed to excel in the diverse field of countryside management. This diploma offers a deep dive into the principles, techniques, and practices essential for effective management of rural environments, natural resources, and wildlife habitats.

Through a combination of theoretical learning and practical application, students gain a strong foundation in ecological conservation, sustainable land use, biodiversity, and environmental management.

The curriculum focuses on key areas such as habitat restoration, wildlife conservation, environmental policy and contemporary issues, providing students with a holistic understanding of the challenges and opportunities within the countryside sector.

This qualification nurtures students’ passion for nature and conservation and also prepares them for Higher Education or rewarding careers in national companies, local wildlife trusts and conservation organisations.

Entry Requirements

4 GCSEs at grade 4, with at least GCSE grade 5 in a Science subject or Geography, including English, Maths and a Science OR a relevant Level 2 Certificate at Merit with suitable Maths & English qualifications.

Mature students lacking formal qualifications will also be considered. Enthusiasm, relevant practical experience, a keen and active interest in wildlife the countryside and the ability to cope with written work is required.
