Foundation Learning gives you a supportive place to build confidence, develop skills and discover what comes next. Courses are designed around different starting points and can help you prepare for further study, work or greater independence.
Where will I learn?
Foundation Learning is available at both Weymouth and Kingston Maurward. At Weymouth, the newly-built Cove provides a dedicated space with a life-skills kitchen, quiet study areas, computing facilities and a sensory room, where as Grey’s Loft at Kingston Maurward allows students to learn among nature and try out many aspects of our land-based courses.
What qualifications can I take?
Foundation routes include Entry Level and Level 1 programmes, as well as supported internships, focused on employability-focused qualifications and learning more independence for life after College.
Where could it take me?
Depending on your programme and goals, you could progress to a further course, an Apprenticeship, employment or greater independence. Our team will support you to work out what your next step could be.
What support is available for SEND?
If you have Special Educational Needs or Disabilities (SEND), our dedicated team will work with you to understand what you need and how we can help you succeed. Our SEND Team gets to know you, your strengths, your challenges and the way you like to learn. We work with you, your family and your school or previous provider to put the right support in place from day one.
