Delivered through the Adult Learning Team, this course leads to a nationally regulated qualification awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) – the only Ofqual-approved awarding body to specialise in the field of counselling and supervision.

Course Structure
Course Description
This qualification, awarded by the Counselling and Psychotherapy Central Awarding Body (CPCAB) and delivered over 10 weeks in the evening is intended for candidates who want to:
- Learn basic counselling skills (listening and responding skills) in helping roles
- Find out more about counselling (this qualification won’t teach them to be a counsellor, but may help them decide whether or not they want to train as one)
- Improve professional and personal relationships

The course runs in the evening for 10 weeks, from 6pm to 9pm and will be delivered at the Coastland College Weymouth Campus, Cranford Avenue College site in Weymouth, with free parking available.
Assessment is by portfolio of work.
