In Short
Teacher Training for Further Education Sector- The City and Guilds Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) prepares trainee teachers to teach in the Further Education sector. There is a significant practice requirement, as this qualification will assess, and provide evidence of, competence when undertaking teaching and/or training responsibilities. Student must have a teaching role in the FE sector that can provide 250 hours of experience, including min150 hours subject teaching. the additional 100hours is non-teaching placement time. There is an additional subsidiary placement of min 20 hours at another provider.Topics covered include:
- Planning and delivering specialist subjects
- Understanding the teaching role
- Understanding learners and how they learn
- Online learning and pedagogy
- Managing behaviour
- Coaching and mentoring
