Course Overview

Health, Social Care and Childcare are rewarding and inspiring subjects that gives you the opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. Whether you are interested in caring for children, supporting individuals in healthcare, social care, or other caring professions, our courses will help you develop the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence needed for a successful future through a combination of classroom learning, practical activities, and real-world experiences.

Entry Requirements

No formal qualifications required. You should have an interest in health, social care and childcare, and be keen to develop your skills and knowledge.

Course Structure

Course Description

This course is designed to support your transition into college and help you develop the confidence, skills, and knowledge needed for further study. You will become familiar with being in an educational environment, develop effective study skills, and explore an introduction to health, social care, and childcare. The course will help you build independence, communication skills, and prepare you for your next step.

Work placement

Work placement is an essential part of T Levels, providing you with valuable experience in a professional environment. We will support you in securing a suitable placement and guide you throughout the process. Before attending placement, all students must successfully complete a DBS check.

Uniform

Students are required to wear the Coastland College Health and Social Care uniform while attending work placement.

The uniform consists of:

  • Coastland College Health and Social Care polo shirt
  • Black trousers
  • Black shoes

To maintain professional standards within health and social care settings, students are not permitted to wear false nails while on placement.

Assessment

Entry 3, Level 1, and Level 2 courses are assessed through coursework, allowing you to demonstrate your knowledge and understanding throughout the year.

Progression

The successful completion of this course could lead you to Level 1 and Level 2 qualifications, providing an excellent foundation for a rewarding career supporting the health, wellbeing and care of others.
