Entry Requirements
At least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5, including English and grade 6 (B) in Maths, as well as either grade 66 (BB) in Double Award Science, or 6 (B) in Chemistry. You are expected to have high of attendance.

Studying A Level Chemistry at Coastland College gives you the chance to explore the science behind the world around you, from the air we breathe to the medicines we take and the energy we use.
This course blends theory, experiment and real-world application, helping you understand chemistry in everyday life and its impact on modern industry, healthcare and the environment.
Throughout the course, you’ll strengthen your understanding of scientific principles while building your practical, mathematical and problem-solving skills. You’ll also learn how chemistry contributes to global challenges, from developing sustainable materials to protecting the planet’s atmosphere.
You’ll develop scientific confidence, analytical skills and the ability to think critically, essential for success at university and beyond.
Chemistry is an excellent basis for a degree in medicine, pharmacy, dentistry, the sciences, maths, pharmacology or analytical chemistry. It is also taken by many law applicants as it shows an ability to cope with difficult concepts, and it opens doors to
a wide range of career opportunities.
