Course Structure

Course Description

From the shifting coastlines of Dorset to the challenges of global change, Geography at Coastland College helps you make sense of the world around you.

You’ll study people, places and environments – exploring how they connect and how they shape our shared future.

This course encourages you to think critically, investigate real-world issues, and develop analytical, research and fieldwork skills that are valued by universities and employers alike.

You’ll explore themes such as globalisation; tectonic processes and hazards; health, human rights and intervention; and sustainability and climate resilience – all while using the Dorset coast as a living classroom.

On field trips you’ll collect and analyse data for your coursework project. This hands-on approach helps you apply theory to real environments and gain confidence as a researcher and problem-solver.
