Entry Requirements
At least 5 GCSEs at grade 9-5, including English. You will be expected to complete four and a half hours independent study per week, have good attendance and be willing to participate in class debates.

Law shapes every part of society, from the decisions made in Parliament to the rights we exercise every day.
Studying A Level Law at Coastland College gives you an understanding of how the legal system works, how justice is delivered, and how laws adapt to an ever-changing world.
You’ll explore fascinating real-world cases, debate ethical issues, and learn to analyse situations from multiple viewpoints. Along the way, you’ll develop critical thinking, decision-making and problem-solving skills that are valued by universities and by businesses and public services alike.
Learn beyond the classroom with opportunities with visits to Parliament and local courts, guest talks from magistrates, MPs and former judges.
This course suits students who enjoy debating, analysing complex issues, and understanding how law shapes society.
Progression
A Level Law provides an excellent foundation for a wide range of degree courses and professional careers in law, politics, public service, teaching or media. Students often go on to study law at degree level, criminology, politics or history, or enter the workplace through legal apprenticeships and related roles.
