Entry Requirements
Selection is by interview and a good school or employer reference. There are no formal entry requirements, but you will be expected to show a keen interest in working in the health or social care sector and to demonstrate an ability to cope with the assessment process. Other information such as assessment results, relevant experience and portfolio may be taken into consideration.
Course Structure
Course Description
You will study a mixture of theory and practical work within the course, including units related to an introduction to Health, Social Care.Units include:
- Being Organised
- Developing a Personal Progression Plan
- Finding Out About Health and Social Care Services
- Communication Skills for Health and Social Care
- Advising Others About Healthy Lifestyles
- Providing a Creative Activity When Caring for People
Assessment
You will be assessed for competency in each unit through the completion of a linked assignment. A pass in all units must be achieved in all areas to gain the full award.
Progression
You will be able to enter employment at trainee level or progress to further education such as the Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care or Childcare or to an Apprenticeship programme.
